It’s not common, but I now notice that part of what defines Spike’s face are thick upper and lower eyelid lines.

Yeah, he made some (relatively minor) mistakes, but the fact that it was his earlier decisions, made when he was sincerely trying to carry out his task, that ended up causing disaster is what makes this episode a 22-minute charlie foxtrot.

-is told to make sure NOTHING wakes up Twilight  
-ends up getting a head of steam because he has a bunch of authority  
-Cadance tells him to knock it off  
-he knocks it off  
-still has to make sure “nothing at all” wakes up twilight  
-no one considered the possibility he’d stop anything and everything that made noise  
-this included public works projects that culminated in a series of events that bork the whole meeting  
-spike is somehow to blame for not being told all the instructions
 
He hardly catches a break.

The poor kid tries so damn hard.
