I dunno, despite that being admittedly annoying, I kinda liked Kaepora Gaebora. (Yes, the owl has an official name.) He reminded me of the owl from the previous game. (“Link’s Awakening”) And like Navi, he did give some helpful advice.

Plus, they sped up the text in the 3DS remake (and improved some other things) so it’s less annoying now.

People give shit to Navi for all the “HEY! LISTEN!”, but I never found her to be the annoying hellspawn that some gamers make her out to be. She provides helpful hints, essential to the story, and gives you Z-Targeting.

That owl on the other hand is 100x more annoying. At least with Navi you could ignore her. Every time you walk into a new area, there he is with a long monologue that, if you’re not careful, have to listen to twice! At least!
