How the heck it’s not the featured image, I don’t know.
I like the “anime gimmick of sort”-pony type more than these realistic ones.
Don’t moan about the style, that is just a personal preference.
The problem is that unless the current 3D tag is something that you praise, you wouldn’t imagine much of a pony that doesn’t look like a flat anime gimmick of sort. For that you’d need something along these lines:

I am curious, though: Are there any drawings in this style or something like it that you think do get pony anatomy (and especially head/facial structure) correct?
Your last reply makes me want to say I forgive you but the one before that just makes me think this.
I don’t mean to troll, by the way. I kinda regret that I can’t enjoy such atmospheric piece. It’s just an opinion.
It’s basically like almost any other drawing here. Look at that blunt face shape and grotesque orbs. The whole body is very badly, awkwardly proportioned, it lacks detail and expression. I doubt he’ll improve.
