In all seriousness though congratulations on creating an alt universe so interesting people almost fight about it on the internet. <3
@Background Pony #CA8E
Ivory: Tall and muscular, she’s a big strong miner.
Sparkling Cider: Short and meek, she’s a delicate city gal sophisticate
This a very basic tool used in any visual medium because people commonly associate certain visual motifs with a respective nature and demeanor.
@Siden
This is cool and love your work and all, but since you’re here can you explain why their physical stature is swapped also? I get why Rarity would be built in this ’verse because of her work and the other way around with Cider, but why the height differences and such also?
@Lagmobile
Pinky was actually the hardest one for me but think of it this way. Everything Pinkie does she does to bring joy and laughter to others, that is her core interest and job. Pinkie Pie does this through parties and performances, all very extroverted tasks. Ink blot, on the other hand, is introverted (being the Fluttershy of the group), but still has the desire to entertain others and make them laugh. She does this through introverted tasks like cartoon comics and drawings, things people can enjoy indirectly. She also is an aspiring animator but I have yet to flesh that out yet as I’ve been more focused on Ivory and Sparkling Cider >3>
@G.S.
Lagmobile is absolutely right. For every character swap I take the core interests or job of one character and then fit it around the other ones personality and behavior. So Ivory has Rarity’s interest in gems and locating them but has AJ’s stern work ethic and grit, which I envisioned being a miner. Sparkling Cider has AJ’s interest in apples but has Rarity’s sophistication and delicate nature, so she makes hand creams and soaps with apples, and has her own cider brand that she sells to the high class market.
Their elements and core interests are the same, but now filtered through the personality of another.
@G.S.
Rarity and Ivory still have an obsession with Gems.
Applejack and Sparkling Cider still work with apples and apple accessories.
Fluttershy and Cottontail still have an obsession with animals.
Granted I can’t figure out the correlation between baking or party planning to drawing with Pinkie and Ink. Thinking about it now perhaps she’s a cartoonist or uses the characters she creates to entertain kids. Kind of a stretch there. Maybe it’s as simple as just being a gag on her split personality.
But in every instance they’ve kept their field of interest, if not something directly related. Ivory just has AJ’s rough and tumble attitude and Cider got Rarity’s refined demeanour. Cotton got Pinkie’s outgoing random nature and Ink got Flutter’s introverted nature. How is there not a theme there?
With what we’ve seen so far Twilight should still be serving under Celestia in some capacity and Rainbow should still have a position on the Weather Patrol or working with the town in some other way.
Though on second thought it’s actually more likely that Twilight became a Gaurdsman and Rainbow is now either the librarian or the Mayor’s aide. This is all speculation of course. It’s just fun guessing what they could be, there’s so much potential with this universe.
Now hear me out on this, but I’m guessing that Twilight followed in her brothers horseshoes and went into the guard academy. Because the rainboom didn’t happen, she wasn’t accepted into Celestia’s school for gifted unicorns. Celestia was still her idol, though, so she went into the guard academy hoping to help in the castle. However, due to her yet untapped supply of strong magic power, as well as her skills with paperwork and regulations, she was raised through the ranks quickly and became the youngest unicorn to become part of Celestia’s personal guard.
Having been through the training and being around other guards the entire time, she would be more athletic than the regular Twilight and their sort of locker room personalities would have rubbed off on her. If the going gets rough, though, she’ll drop any attitude and really show you why she made personal guard.
This is all just guess work, though, and we won’t really know until Siden makes the arts for it.
That’s just incorrect. They did not keep their jobs or interests (they traded those with their swap partners), and the theme you claim to be present is not. :/
From what we’ve seen it’s not a complete personality swap. If it was a complete personality swap there would be no point in the swap in the first place.
So far they’ve all followed the theme of keeping their job or interest or something very related to what they do but their character traits were swapped. Ivory and Cider mentioned that their version of Twi is more full of herself but she’s still probably the smart aleck-y princess.
If the theme still holds up Rainbow should be some sort of OCD health nut while Twi would be pretty much Tony Stark IMO.
@G.S.
Yes but they remain their own element sooo Twilight would still be Celestia’s student and so still the leader while Dash would indeed be the smart one but Twilight would be the strong knuckle head leader
But so far the change has been subtile, like only one aspect has been swapped. I theorize Twilight is some form of wild mage while Dash is a professional athlete.

So Twilight is still a major egghead but with Dash’s confidence and Dash still an athlete but with Twilight’s rules and regulations?
Basically, Tony Stark and Steve Rogers respectively

I knew the element were the same!

siden’s pp and fs
@Solar’s Wrath
When did Siden say they remained their own elements?

I mean, if Twilight and Dash have swapped personalities on the other side of the mirror, Dash WOULD be the egghead shut-in with leadership qualities.
And Twilight would be a narcissistic insecure jock that probably does Parkour or something.
It would probably be problematic if MirrorTwi was alicorned as opposed to MirrorDash. :P
Iiiii don’t think so ^^’
In that vein, AU RD would be Captain America
Also, FS would be like Steve Irwin
Considering this is the kind of phrasing for innuendo my friends and I use all the time, I can’t help but think it was intentional…
Oh yes it has to happen!
So a hyper intelligent charismatic narcissist. Where have I heard that before?
Twilight Starkle: “I am Ironmare.”
@PonyPon
@Orlock_lyra

Yes because Pinkie and FS are a swap so the last one id RD and Twilight
I think they are hinting that twilight is their version of rainbow dash? if we are going for personality swap dynamic.
