except common headcannon is that most unicorns do not have zappy zap magic. Twilight is an exceptionally talented spellcaster and not in any way representative of the norm. most unicorns likely only have telekinesis and 1-2 other spells related to their cutiemark/profession.

sure… if they’re not caught off guard and there just happens to be a lightning capable cloud around. If they know ahead of time that they’re going to be fighting a big baddy, then they have a chance. otherwise, all they can do is fly away.
 
really, earth pones are the only ones who stand a reliable shot of winning.

dragons have no interest in ponies.  
the likes of manticores and chimeras fall under mundane in the sense that while fantastical creatures, their methods of attack are mundane.  
large monsters however are definitely more of a threat. hydra, quary eels. still the ponies could handle them. earth ponies are fast and likely have sufficient strength to cause them harm, if not severe damage. also if eaten they could do a renactment of a chest burster.  
pegasi could use thunderheads.  
unicorns go zappy zap magic.
 
it would take some a bit more supernatural in nature to be a threat to them.

they can handle most things mundane, sure. but have you seen all the non-mundane creatures in equestria?
 
dragons, hydras, manticores, chimeras, quarry eels, there’s a ton of creatures that could and would easily eat a pony.

extremely few i would think. this situation here? could use wind to repel the snake.
 
earth ponies would be the worse. the snake would ahve to match its normal mundane, if powerful, muscles to the supernatural strength of an earth pony.
 
they likely have few legitimate predators. they can handle most things mundane.

I’m always wondering as to where the pony species stands on the food chain in Equestria. Wonder how many everyday predators exist for ponies on the daily basis.
