Even more Interesting Fun Fact: The original first negotations for the game fell through, forcing Miyamoto to take the original design of what was the original idea for the Popeye arcade game, tweak it a bit, and made…Donkey Kong (subbing Mario for Popeye, DK for Bluto, and Pauline for Olive). Then after its success, King Features Synd. went back to the table and that’s when the Popeye arcade game as it now is comes from.
In short, if it wasn’t for KFS’s original deal going under, DK Arcade (the way we know it know. who knows if it would’ve still been made) wouldn’t have been created. Life’s weird.
