No, she had been trying to light the candle without causing other damage. In the story, Nina has exceptional fire magic, and has had it since she was born due to her mother doing something while pregnant. something about a potion i think.
anyways, the text says, “Mom! I did it!” in Irish.
it’s just a picture of a Baby Nina learning how to control her magic.
