No, really, Twinkle Wish Adventure is pure unadulterated awful, and I have a lot of tolerance for G3/3.5. Whimsey herself is the worst part–she looks cute, but then you get to her personality and she’s like a rejected character from Laverne & Shirley.

And I personally somehow found enough good things in Newborn Cuties, even though it’s not something I would recommend watching. Twinkle Wish Adventure is the best MLP animation ever created, in my opinion.

Frankly, if they ever brought a female dragon around Spike’s size into FiM, they’d be far more likely to have a new version of Whimsy from this special than Mina from FF #14…
 
Also, I’ve heard some folks say that Twinkle Wish Adventure is the only halfway-decent 3.5 special (the normal G3 specials weren’t TOO bad from what I hear), and things pretty much went downhill after this one, culminating in Newborn Cuties, also sometimes called “G3.75,” which even the most diehard defenders of G3 and previous generations won’t defend.
