Sometimes, especially in the earlier seasons, it’s hard to imagine how they function without each other. Morails are supposed to step in and keep each other from going over the edge. Twilight reins Spike in when his morals start to wander and builds him up when his confidence starts to falter, Spike returns the latter favor, as well as trying to snap Twilight out of it when her neuroses get the better of her or her reasoning strays into implausible territory. In “Friendship Games”, we see another moirallegiance between another Twilight and Spike, one which proved vital to letting Sunset Shimmer get through to Twilight and talk her down from ripping apart the fabric of space and time.
