She says that it’s actually their first winter together. Which means that S1 is probably from around summer to spring, and s2-s4 lasts from spring to autumn at the most.

He does kinda have a point “Best pet win” aired before “hearts warming eve”, but we mustn’t forget that episodic shows like this often have their episode aired in different order hence why episodes are self contain and often hark back to episodes that are seasons behind them.

This and it’s not like we see the rest of the mane 6 24/7 with their pets. Just like you won’t any other person with their pets 24/7, many pet moments just happen behind the scenes.

Also, the episode’s premise and Rainbow being clueless about Tank’s winter hybernation don’t make sense. Ever since Dash got Tank at least one winter has passed, probably more. She would have already known her pet does this at this time of year.

Since when does she care about Tank so much? Its lack of screen time and relevance after May The Best Pet Win are what generally made this episode so out there and impossible to feel the writer’s intent. If it was Pinkie and Gummy instead it would make some sense, they at least had some strong bonding in early seasons.
