Don’t get mad about it. Sometimes really good pony artists, for some strange reason, quit after a few months and delete everything they’ve uploaded. Someone else uploading your content is a good sign; someone wants to save your work and it acts as insurance for people who don’t download everything you post.

Is it weird that I just don’t see the point in who gets “credit” for an upload?

@dsagent
Yeah, and if you consistently or repeatedly change tags to something that’s incorrect, you can get banned. I know of at least one user who’s permabanned largely because of that.

I can see some point in wanting to upload your own art, as Derpibooru credits upvotes and favs to the uploader and not the artist.

If facebook has proven anything, people like being thumbed up, it brings some sort of emotional high.

To be fair, a lot of people don’t really get the concept of an image booru. A lot of people haven’t even heard of them.

What happens is a lot of artists find their stuff on a site like this and they immediately become defensive, assuming that someone has stolen their work and trying to take credit for it. A lot of them don’t realize that it’s just an archive and that full credit and sourcing is both enforced and given, and that they’re like one e-mail away from effortlessly having it taken down if they don’t want it here.

Then… a lot of people react badly.
