the key thing with me is the amount more of effort and originality done in the art Sonic crossovers or otherwise.
 
There are that vote because they hate Sonic and/or its fandom. Others despise the image because it’s cheap and multiple copy-paste images. Some just want to troll. While there are those who actually recognize effort, concept, style and/or originality and up vote as a result.
 
the site is biased when submitting pony art (not saying as a negative but as a reason of fact), so crossovers need to be exceptional to get a decent score. Overloading the site with mediocre images is not going to leave a pleasant impression so any halfway decent Sonic x mlp art is going to meet a good chuck of that negativity.
 
only analogy i could think of is going to have your portfolio reviewed at Marvel and DC Comics to show your renditions of Wolverine, Batman, and Deadpool while they have seen thousands of others done with the same characters. Have to step up the art game.
