It’s heavily implied that the protagonists sleep with all of the love interests that they max their social link with. They’ll be in the Protagonist’s room with a lovey-dovey atmosphere, then the screen will fade to black and it’ll say something like “You spent a long time with [Love Interest]”. But we all know what’s really going on.

I’m a little disappointed that in Golden you just break their hearts. I mean yeah it’s powerful on an emotional level but if I were the game dev I would be a bastard and make everyone you cheated on (excluding your Valentines date) break their social link for the rest of the game.

Yu got it as in P3 if you are dating two girls at the same time, meaning if you don’t have one at max link before moving onto the next, then you can get in trouble, not in P4 where you can do two at once, the female PC in P3P ended up the same as Yu oddly.

With the exception of 1 and 2. Since the MC there got the Emperor and Sun respectively. And your romantic options are either limited or nonexistent.

In Persona 3 and 4 the main character has the Fool Arcana.  
You are able to romance every romantic option in the game at the same time. If you manage your dates right this will have no repercussion whatsoever (Except in Persona 4 Golden where they will call you out.) In Persona 3 it was necessary for 100% Completion since there was no Friend Zone option.
 
The fandom loves to make fun of this. And it also gave Yu the nickname of Swagtagonist.  
I’m not sure why Makoto didn’t get it but I guess Door-kun is a good nickname too.

In the Persona games, the Fool arcana is reserved exclusively for the main character. The main characters can form social links with other characters, including girls, and can thus have a lot of girlfriends.
