I like to think that the way Twilight acts when around Flash is just simply her trying to fit into the human world,, and that is how she sees other girls in that world act around boys that are supposed to be cute and nice. I mean can’t really deny so far in canon, that flash is a “Nice Guy” (his outburst was siren induced) I just do not see somepony, that was raised around ponies, and thier entire ideal of attraction is the pony form, falling for some strange alien looking (from pony perspective) creature that fast.

But she has the mind of a pony. And she shows multiple times that she still unconsciously tries to do pony things (use levitation to open doors, uses mouth to write, closes fists and moves them like hooves, etc.)
 
Why would she be attracted to some orange monkey with blue fur on his head and a small muzzle? Wouldn’t she, as a mare, be attracted to a larger stallion or a human who looked more like a stallion physically?
 
Say you were transformed into, hmmm, a cat. Would you suddenly be attracted to other cats, even though you were born human? (And lets disregard mating season, you’d be humping other cats regardless. Besides, humans have more control than that)
 
There’s parts of the brain called the reptilian and neomammillian. The reptilian recognizes what one would seek sexually in the brain. For human males that would be wide hips, large breasts, healthy body. For a pony like Twilight, obviously a mature stallion of good breeding.
 
Twilight, originally a pony with pony thoughts and shows characteristics of a pony, would be attracted to stallions of her original species. She shouldn’t find human Flash attractive.  
Think of it as when you watch porn. You aren’t in love with those people on screen, but you are aroused by them.
 
The neomammillian handles emotions, which usually become second. As Flash has done little to make a real emotional response (being polite enough to help someone up from falling is not a romantic gesture unless they knew each other prior) she should care as much for him as any background pony.
 
So even if Twilight did care for him, she wouldn’t be physically attracted to him, being a pony in a human body.
 
I know I’m going off on a spiel but I recently watched a documentary.

Let me propose a simple fix…
 
Being in different bodies puts Twilight at the mercy of different body chemistry, particularly hormonal. It can’t change what she wants, but it can have a profound effect on how much she wants it.
 
And that would let us move the hell on, right?

But still, the “romance” (if you could call it that) between Flash and Twi is only in the movie. Like I said, Flash has been repeatedly used and nopony reacted. Not even Rarity, who would have eagerly pointed this out to Twilight.

They’ve constantly called back to things in the show, like the Crystal Empire, the first episode, etc. Some episodes are one-offs.  
The fact that EqG also has no effect on the show either means that it holds little weight in canon.

So by that logic only a tiny fraction of the show is canon.
