An excellent summary.
Sounds alright, but not a story I would read.
OK… Major spoiler alerts and some liberties taken with it for brevity.
Silverlay is a spell that’s supposed to steal Twilight’s magic and memories so an ancient wizard can use it to come back and conquer Equestria. Because she’s made of Twilight’s magic, she looks like Twilight. But Rainbow Dash interrupted her before she was finished draining Twilight, and so Twilight was able to break free and talk to her before she was strong enough to start draining Twilight again. When Twilight realized Silverlay had all her memories as well as some of her magic, and after talking to Celestia who had escaped from one of these “Umbra Ponies” centuries ago too, Twilight was able to figure out the delay was an opportunity to do more than just stop her and prevent even more magic from being drained like Celestia did. Instead of simply draining Twilight and then being drained herself by the ancient wizard until there was nothing left, Silverlay had time most of them didn’t have to think through the memories of love and friendship she got before she vanished. If Twilight could help her have enough reason to live, Silverlay could find her own heart. Then she wouldn’t need to use Twilight’s magic to keep living. That realization came in steps though; that’s what makes the story so compelling. For example, she has some freckles in later strips because realizing she didn’t want to die came before the realization that she could live on the magic of her own heart rather than someone else’s. So when she was fading from over-exertion while playing with Applejack, she panicked and drained some of Applejack’s magic too. But that actually moved her along. She was terrified that Twilight would be angry that she’d ruined the “twin sister” Twilight wanted, and Twilight would stop helping her. When she found out Twilight instead was delighted that she was becoming herself, rather than what someone else wanted her to be, it finally started to dawn on her. It’s really one of the more touching stories I’ve seen here.
Not disagreeing with the later, just saying the former is also true.
now three. :(
Sadly that makes two of us.
Can you try do do a summary of the comic for Eeveeinheat? i’d do it myself, but i’m horrible at explaining things.
Appearance wise? Sure. But she got a pretty interesting backstory.
Regardless of story content, it doesn’t stop it being a badly recolored twilight.
Is that just an ignorant prick who refuses to read the whole story?
@ptmc2112
How about a summary? I already have over a hundred fan fictions in my queue, and a few dozen stories I am in the process of reading, so a comic that I don’t even have a summary for barely necessitates my time. Also, I like reading stories with words only unless I am interested. And since I have zero clue what this is about, hence why I need a summary, I am not interested as of yet.
@cute_celestia
@Eeveeinheat
Remember what happened to Kyle in South Park when he wouldn’t read? That cuttlefish and asparagus is not sitting well….
@Eeveeinheat
seems like some still wont read the story
Yep.
No, the one you’re thinking about is foudubulbe’s Memory Lapse.
