@Background Pony #2403: Nightmare Rarity’s design was taken from Nightmare Moon as well, and for good reason. But details were changed to make Nightmare Rarity’s looks distinct from Nightmare Moon’s. I can see where you’re coming from with calling Nyx’s design “unoriginal”, though. I understand that Nyx is supposed to be Nightmare Moon reborn. But my complaint about her design involves her Nightmare form only. Her child form has a design that’s spot-on. And there’s no “official” design for when she’s older, but I prefer Silverarrow’s interpretation of an older Nyx. As it shows a natural progression from filly to mare, with Nyx growing more beautiful and elegant with age. And you get the feeling that she’s completely cast aside the name of Nightmare Moon/Rarity or whatever by the time she’s reached adulthood the way nature intended. But her Nightmare form, if you ask me, looks too identical to Luna’s. And I wish someone did what Amy Mebberson did when designing Rarity’s Nightmare form, and design Nyx’s Nightmare form in a way that it looks similar to but distinct from Luna’s.
 
And as for some of your gripes. I don’t really see the point in trying to have Twilight teach Nyx what she learns anyways from spending time with the CMC.

I said, her design is taken from Nightmare Moon and therefor shouldn’t be complimented as ‘nice design’ because there is nothing original about it.  
Even as a ‘reincarnation’ of Nightmare Moon, she could have had an original design.  
This is basically what happens if you mix Nightmare moon, Luna and crap together.
 
Also, the title of her story still makes no sense. She was an innocent foal, having no past sins, as she was reborn. But.. oh, I forgot… not adding that unneccesary aspect of some ‘past sins’ would’ve made the story less drama. We can’t have that, can we!
 
I mean, why tell a good story with good characters and where canons stay in canon, when you can have a drama fest, where killing is an option and a foal is traumatizised that much, that it needs to be put under amnesia in the end.  
Not to forget, that if Twilight would have taught Nyx about friendship (you know, instead of trying to be a teen mom and forgetting her studies) she could have prevented so much.  
But no! Twist the canons, so that drama happens!
