They have seen one another clearly in person, so how could they not know of the other being where they are?

Ture, but the “never met face to face. They’ve certainly never spoken to one another.” isn’t, there where two episodes where they where so close there is no why they wouldn’t know of the others.
I don’t know, but Twilight’s present day parents don’t actually look all that old so…
