I could see it, still, I disagree that this is foreshadowing of Twilight Alicorn, that one was clearly forced and rushed by McCarthy’s superiors. This is obviously stock talk to cheer Twilight up.
 
The fans manage to make foreshadowing far reaching like that much better than the show (through fan fiction and such) since they’re by themselves and can provide more organization, as well as not being motivated by money.

I think it’s less of specifically for Twilight and more about Cadance learning humility. Like, in my IB program, I had to perform at least 40 hours of community service, and it could have been anything as long as it helped people with no otherwise agenda. I presume her babysitting was something similar, of getting some outside experience with the world in a way that’s both morally enriching and good-looking, and she just happened to stick with this foalsitting job because her big brother was good-looking.

I concede to your point, but I still think having a princess babysit you is just enough to be special about, royalty is taking time away from their important duties exclusively for her. That being said, as evidenced by Trixie’s episode, she’s actually a little too much humble.
 
Also agree with PonyPon, being sheltered probably gave her this personality she has today, she was only friends with her brother after all.

This is before her cutie mark when she’s still learning, so not a powerful protoge yet. Cadance became her babysitter to get close to Shining and she knows it. Any wealth her family has isn’t significant in a place like Canterlot, no magic touter and look at the dress she was originally going to wear to the gala.  
At this point in her life the only thing of note is having an alicorn princess for a babysitter.  
Makes sense to me.

People can be rich and held in important positions without them actually having anything of note. For example, Prince Blueblood in the show, and Kim Kardashian in the real world.

I doubt it, the girl is not only super powerful (recall how she got her mark?) SHE IS BEING BABYSAT BY A PRINCESS! I have no idea how Twilight herself would think she’s normal. Her parents are probably rich too.
