There was an invitation only preview for Absolute Discord at Ponycon. They gave out black envelopes to CCG players, mostly to top 8’s I think.
It started with a slideshow. It was about Chaos cards, the Discord Mane, colorless friends (showed Pinkie Pie, can’t remember what she does), Liarjack and all the discorded mane six as troublemakers , and a cycle of Event cards that are Choose two of three effects. The blue one was a Faceoff card and two of the options were move a friend and flip another card, don’t remember the 3rd.
They showed a picture of a bunch of characters that maybe might (hint hint) be in the set. There was Ahuizotl, Tirek, Steven magnet, Screwball, Tom, a Changeling, more?
Then everyone played with a RocknRave deck with some of Absolute Discord cards in them. There were 10 AD cards, only got pictures of the four.
Missed an UR Applejack that keeps ponies exhausted while in play, Tom (the rock) was a chaos card that dismissed, Babs Seed (coming out of the movie screen) was a troublemaker that was double the power of an opponent’s friend I think, Luna did chaos exhaust, Fluttershy is a colorless friend that I can’t remember, don’t remember the last one.
Props to them having cotton candy, chocolate milk, and popcorn there to eat. And creepy balloons. Pizza was good, too.

Oh, definitely. Given the mechanical definition here, I think something like Twilight Snapple would have been far more appropriate for a Chaotic Twilight Sparkle. You have your faceoff, you flip the card, and… “Hi giiirrrls!”
That’s my guess. It’d be an ability word in Magic, indicating a common theme in the mechanics but having no rules meaning itself. So, if you want to note all cards with chaos abilities, you need an indicator the game can work with. Hence the chaotic type. It makes sense from a design perspective; it’s just that the flavor’s a little screwy.
Color and Power are separate.
It may just be a rules thing: a way to identify cards with Chaos abilities, since Chaos isn’t a true keyword.
But that modifier is on the situation where she was herself, in Three’s a Crowd.
it’s in the description, that’s a part of the Discord set. All mane6 have their drained/opposite versions which count as chaotic since basically they weren’t acting as themselves
