There has to be a way to provide closure without making someone pay for a funeral.
Instead they’re just left to painfully wonder where you disappeared to, creating tension and false hope that lasts their entire lives and creates an emotional turmoil that has no much-needed closure, making acceptance near-impossible…
Though I guess admittedly I don’t really know if it’s better or worse, but I can imagine no body would be pretty darn emotionally damaging as well, very much comparable to finding one and the closure that offers.
Didn’t notice the note. I feel dumb (well, dumber) now.
@Nukechaser
If there’s no corpse, who finds it is a non-issue, as is a funeral.
It’s not the corpse, it’s who finds it. No need to ruin some random person’s day with the results of your existential despair. Buy a tank of helium or nitrogen, tubing, a regulator, and an NRB mask. Drive out to the countryside, call 911. Tell them what you’re about to do, the location of your vehicle. Hang up. Hook it all together, set it to 15 lpm, breathe deeply. Painless unconsciousness within 2 minutes, brain death within 15. Even with optimal response time, EMS isn’t going to get there in time, and they’ve seen worse, I know from experience.
Alternatively, simply don’t commit suicide and cause horrific anguish and trauma to everyone who loves you.
You could try to steal a hydrogen bomb. There would be absolutely nothing left of you but base atoms and molecules.
Others might point out the note to Applebloom.
I’d reply that it could’ve purely been sentimental for one reason or another.
I want an explosion to work but I know it won’t.
Also, a non-disfigured corpse is still a corpse.
@Nukechaser
Maybe that’s why she died smiling, because the rest of her family is dead and she’s going to see them again on the other side?
Alternatively, metal foundries. Or just some heavy weights and the nearest murky and/or deep body of water. Or just a method that doesn’t leave the corpse grotesquely disfigured in any way.
Huh. Not necessarily plausible, but it is possible. Congratulations.
I recommend jumping into a Hawaii volcano. You’ll have about ten seconds to wiggle yourself deeper inside the magma, so your body isn’t found, depending on how long it takes for the pain to throw you into unconsciousness (Burning alive isn’t an instant death after all. At least when all your nerves burn off you won’t be in agonizing pain. You’ll most likely die from asphyxiation btw). Remember to have fun!
If you can suggest a method of suicide that doesn’t leave a corpse, I’m all ears.

It bears several elements resembling the painted world.
haha same!
maybe it’s just me, but this instantly made me think of Dark Souls.
the ruined building, the storm, the note, the fact that she died smiling.
what the hell happened?
