If they ever were to add something even remotely humanoid it would have to be a fantastical creature like a Satyr or a Centaur.

I think Humans settled in Equestria at one point, but were wiped out after the gates of Tartarus were opened. So they have numerous ruins of Human cities and museums full of various bits of technology. Kinda like the film Wizards.
