I thought I would do another picture for Syre, since he didn’t have one just to himself yet. Also, in the previous one he’s a lot smaller than this, so let’s assume this is him in the present, a little older (younger than Reflux).
Anyway… Syre is the younger brother of Mave and the son of Maera and Syrus. He lives in Saddle Lake with the rest of his immediate family. Syre is a very soft little guy and sees nothing wrong with acting cute or childish. He looks rather effeminate, which leads to some mistaking him for a female at first. Even his voice is just light enough to land in the mystery ground between tones commonly assigned to either gender.
Syre loves his sister more than anything in the world, and despite the inevitable backlash in both genes and from other Luachras, he wants to mate with her. Not because he finds her attractive, but simply because he loves her enough to completely ignore his kind’s misgivings about sibling relationships. Despite not being very large or strong, Syre has promised to protect Mave against anything that comes their way.
He has a good relationship with his mother due to their similar personalities, but struggles with his father’s pessimistic outlook on life.

D’aaaww
And so adorableeeee~<3
But I’m watching Mave frolic in the leaves that have gathered there!
SHE’S SO TINY!
Yes, of course.
Getcha mind outta da gutta!
… We’re still talking about a belly rub, right?
Yeah, I’m sure it’d be like that at first. After all, he’s so tiiiiiny~
But he’d ease into it and get used to it as time goes on!
I’d be more the type to, if I was to give a belly rub to him, be insanely careful, thinking ANY impact would possibly be too much.
“I can feel a hair!”
“I’M SORRY!!!”
Yeah. First Badum re-introduced the Alp-luachra as an adorable MLP-universe creature, then I named the most popular Alp, then Parallel expanded on the Alp universe. So no matter which one of us comes up with a name for Alpy fans, that will be inevitable.
Yeah, and I bet if he got too much attention, he’d be really overwhelmed.
As for me, he’ll come to know I mean no harm eventually. It would just take a while, and lots of otherwise adorable trembling and shrinking back at first… basically, kind of a woobie, which is some one s cute/sad/adorable you want to hug and comfort them. Well, minus the sad part, since he’s courageous with his friends and family, as you say.
Poor Syre… I imagine he’d be very courageous at the plights of his friends and family, but not so good under pressure, himself, primarily of the psychological manner, but also, as shown, of the physical.
I wonder if Reflux would go all Obi-Wan on the pony. “If you squish me, I’ll return stronger than you will ever know.”
Ya, alp-luachra isn’t exactly an easy word to work with. But, we’ll probably come up with something eventually.
Mave: “Simmer down, Syre! Melly’s just trying to give you a little tummy rub!”
Syre: “But his hand (or hoof, if it’s my OC) is so… so ginormous! W-what if it squashes me? whimper”
@intenseLazlo
Awesome! Yay to us Alpy Heads!
Umm… still working out what to call us Alp-luachra fans.
If this was done to Mave, I can almost imagine her calling to her family and friends just off to the side, with the others trembling in fear at seeing a creature pinning down one of their own after she attempts to rush at the human lying down at the base of a tree.
And just for added awesomeness, the pony that’s pinned her is Cuddlhu, who only stopped her to ask how she is, despite the other parasites thinking she’s a sadistic pony who’s enjoying having Mave pinned beneath her hoof (which is actually gentle so as to not harm Mave).
@Mellow91
He’d just look back and forth like “What’s got me?… Wh-What’s got me?… Please don’t hurt me… I’ll be good… M-… Maaaaaave…”
Don’t worry about it, sometimes I’d miss when your pics came out and didn’t have the chance to jump in to any conversations while they were still fresh. But I’m following you now, so it shouldn’t happen again.:)
@Mellow91
It was actually Badums first alp-luachra pic that got me into his overall work, I’ve been a loyal follower since.
No worries. It can take some time for some fans to come out of the woodwork and get noticed or come out of the woodwork. :)
It took til about the sixth Alp-luachra pic on this site for me to come to prominence as Mave’s biggest fan, for example.
… Oh right, my mistake O_O I only ever noticed him on one of the other pics that I made. Maera I think. Oh well, sorry Lazlo.
Lazlo’s been a fan, I believe, ever since the early days with Badum’s original Alp pics. The Alp-luachra is one of the best new original species, if not the best!
Yay! Another fan :) I’m loving drawing these things, and more than happy to be the source of secondary-canon for the Alp-Luachra species as a whole. Which reminds me, I should probably do a ref sheet to go alongside the one Badum made. I’ve made up a lot of new stuff since the original was made.
Same here! It is so wonderful
nod nod
Yes, they are. But I still feel I’d have to be rather gentle greeting Syre!
Funny idea there. Maybe the first time Syre ever ventured out of the pond, he was discovered and pinned down by a young pony who luckily wasn’t the type to crush bugs underhoof.
@Mellow91
Girly-looking guys are always cute :3
A finger indeed most likely spook the little fellow at first.
One would surely have to approach him gently!
After all, he’s more shy and timid than his sister, right?
He’s mah man!
…Err, I mean, my parasitic equine-like lizard!
Insert image of a hand pressing down on him, here.
