Admins can see beyond IPs as well.
 
I used to manage a site a long time ago and let me tel you it is actually disturbing how much info the folks who run any site on the net can lift from your PC. Nothing really in the way of personal information, but they can see things like your MAC address, OS, ISP, even what browser you are running. All the proxy servers and VPNs in the world can’t protect your identity either.
