Welp, Past Me, she has the full set now. So who’s she headed for in S6 I wonder?
@Phantom Rider
“You know what? Forget kids. I want clones. Zillions of them.”
She’d consider her DNA way too awesome to not pass down.
You sure she’d never want a foal?
Now if they weren’t trying for one, then yeah, she’d be pissed, but that’s not a foregone conclusion. I can easily see her wanting to pass on whatever legacy she has (or thinks she has).
Plus now all she needs is an Applebloom dream and she’ll have a full set!
But mostly it’s because it hits so close to home.
Might very well be an underlying reason, yes.
Pretty much, yeah.
Let’s be fair, though, maybe Luna just didn’t want to watch somepony else make the same mistakes she did.
The ol’ “scare ’em straight” routine.
Not only was it a nightmare, but it was playing to a very specific fear, Sweetie Belle’s fear that her petty attempt to punish Rarity would do far more harm than she had considered, when Rarity deserved it far less than she had thought.
It was a literal nightmare, though. Probably a grain of truth in it, what with Shores and Rarity being perfectionistic.
@Scrounge
I’m thinking more of how she was portrayed in the nightmarish future that Luna showed Sweetie Belle; granted, it’s not certain that she actually would have acted like that, but the implication is there, and I can’t help but think that’s how the show staff see her now.
Sapphire Shores actually strikes me as not that bad comparatively speaking, just a bit of a perfectionist. And let’s be fair, if you were in her place when Sweetie Belle grabbed the headpiece and ran off with it, you’d have been a little taken aback too.
Yeah, but there are also real-life people in her line of work who are genuinely nice, considerate people; I was hoping she’d be one of them. (And Van Halen actually had a rational reason for that M&M clause)
Ms. Harshwhinny… did not have a good introduction, plus she was introduced relatively recently, so yeah, she’s not exactly the type of character I’m thinking of. I’m more worried about Braeburn, Little Strongheart, Cherry Jubilee, Fancy Pants, etc. returning in an episode in which they’re portrayed as jerks.
Sapphire Shores wasn’t onscreen very long in “A Dog And Pony Show”, plus real-life people in her line of work do, in fact, have a reputation for being demanding, picky, and unreasonable. Only blue M&Ms and such.
Ms. Harshwhinny has also been fairly consistent, but she’s consistently had a stick up her plot, so she might not be one of the ones you meant.
Sapphire Shores made a step down that same path in “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils”. It’s reached the point where I don’t want supporting characters from earlier episodes to return, lest they also start down the path to jerkitude.
Except Spitfire. She can hardly get any worse, so I don’t care if she returns.
Spitfire takes another step in that direction every time she shows up. If it keeps up, by the end of the series, she’ll make Suri Polomare look like Fluttershy.
With Fleetfoot it’s at least possible that she’s always been like that (unless you count the comics).
he’s cocaptain……as in 2nd in command….ya dont get there by being dim. he has a ‘‘lovable oaf’’ personality…..poninality??? anyways
Another reason I didn’t care for how Fleetfoot and (especially) Spitfire were portrayed in “Rainbow Falls”.
He can be an ace flyer and still not necessarily that bright. I agree that he seems nice, I’m just saying that he strikes me as kinda dim.
And it also seems like the other Wonderbolts might not respect him much, or at least Spitfire and Fleetfoot don’t.
Soarin’s one of the wonderbolts, so he’s probably not dumb and actually knows his shit.
He does seem pretty genuinely nice though.
Soarin’s one of the Wonderbolts, so he’s probably not fat and actually in good physical shape.
He does seem pretty dumb, though.
RD: [laughs flanks off]
Soarin: O_o
I know that. I didn’t mean literally make Rarity a lesbian, I meant make her the one everyone insists must be a lesbian. But mostly I was being facetious.
As for Dash, it’s entirely possible that she’s bi, or even just a “masculine”-acting straight chick.
Actually, we can make the characters anything, but it won’t be canon. That said, we can’t make the characters (canonically) straight either.
