Funnily enough, TwiDash used to be my OTP, that is until I discovered RariDash.(Also, Twilight is my Waifu, and I am a girl [deal with it]. Let’s just agree to disagree, and agree that thoe of us who have Twi as their Waifu have alternate versions of her [I CALL DIBS ON CANON TWILIGHT, THOUGH!!!]).

OK, you are talking about chemistry. AJ and Rari are shown together really often, ‘cause they too TOO opposite, it’s funny to compare them for kids and bronies - but arguing in 3\4 of interaction time means interest in each other? Like “one step from hate to love”? They are shown, how opposite friends could deal some problems, like in the “Trade Ya” episode, but even there they were stopped by RD not to start compare each other again. And they have no same hobbies. By the way, Rarity spends a lot of time with Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Spike too, nothing to say about spa-ponies :D.
No “goalposts” have been “moved” here. In my first post I said (quoting myself) “over four seasons Rarity and Dash have spent almost zero time together (in the one episode they did get that costarred the both of them they barely even interacted)”. “Almost zero time” does not mean “no” time. I never once said they were not friends and have never hung out.
When did I say that, or anything like it? I never said it didn’t mean anything, again I said they’re friends (obviously they’re friends, it’s a no-brainer and nobody is disputing this) I said they don’t have as strong a friendship as some of the others do, AJ and Rarity the example I used since Dragonmage brought those two up. What I said is a fact that can’t be argued is that Rarity and AJ spend much more time together and have a much more developed relationship than Dash and Rarity. And that is a fact that can’t be argued, there’s no comparison in the amount of scenes and dialogue and general content, but if you’d like to try and keep blowing this out of proportion because you feel I’ve wronged you somehow then I guess knock yourself out, it’s no sweat off my back.
I guess there wouldn’t be “anything to argue” if you move the goal post from saying “they never hang out” to “Yeah, they’ve hung out, but it doesn’t mean anything because it’s not the same way I feel validates even acknowledging them as friends”
Aside from the fact that it took 3-4 seasons for other pairs from the mane six to have an episode together, like Dash and Twi or Pinkie and AJ, that have arguably less screen-time and chemistry.
But..like, objectivity and facts, right, bruh?
Right. But some other relationships have been focused on in episodes a lot and “pushed into your face” (some a lot, like Rarity/AJ since Dragonmage brought them up) so doesn’t it make sense to admit those are stronger relationships? If Rare and Dash were supposed to be as close we’d see them hanging out just as much and in the same way, we don’t. There’s nothing there to argue about, it’s just a fact.

Basically repeat above. I never once said a ship with them can’t work (read my first post thoroughly if you’re going to try to counter please, I plainly said it’s as viable as a lot of ships out there and people should be allowed to ship it or whatever they want) I’m saying trying to make a case for it by backing it up with examples from the show is pretty ridiculous, and just comes off as desperately seeking validation that doesn’t exist. Even if what you say about Dash and Rarity’s potential for chemistry is true, that doesn’t factor in differences that might keep it from working well, it’s like saying Pinkie and AJ would be great together because they’re both earth ponies that like food and baking, ignoring everything else. And again, if Rarity and Dash had the same kind of chemistry, strength in bond and interest in each other as Rarity and AJ do that make RariJack a popular ship, for instance, we’d see them seeking each other out more often, spending more time together, being paired together more often in things. We don’t.
Let’s just say that almost any element AJ can bring to a ship with Rarity to make it interesting, Dash can bring too: athletic ability; willingness to get dirty; blunt, honest nature–more so with Dash; lack of interest in high society and dolling up; being a sister role model. In addition, Dash has a couple of things in common with Rarity that AJ will never have: being flashy; fan-girling over famous people. So the question is why can’t a ship work with Rarity and Rainbow?

Great. I hope this ship becomes more popular. Hopefully the two get more episodes together.
‘cept if Rarity and Dash were meting all of the others for lunch, instead of just having breakfast together, wouldn’t they have all left to go after Spike? We’ve seen Rarity and Dash hanging out before, like in “Just for Sidekicks”. It’s just never been focused on for an episode, hence the terms of their friendship isn’t pushed into your face.

Let’s put it this way, over four seasons Rarity and Dash have spent almost zero time together (in the one episode they did get that costarred the both of them they barely even interacted). They’ve shown basically zero interest in each other or in getting to be closer friends all that time, unless you count one brief line of dialogue where they ask if Twilight wants to come to breakfast with them (and for all we know “us” can mean all the ponies even then). They’re totally those friends who probably wouldn’t have anything to do with each other if they didn’t share friends (which is still cool, because it’s realistic to how it sometimes works irl and they can still get along). There are plenty of ships out there that make as little or less sense with characters that have never even interacted, and people should be allowed to ship whatever they want but to try to argue reasons for why these two would make a great pair with “evidence” from the show is pretty silly. Just enjoy the ship, but don’t try to justify it.

Yay, my friend, I will.
I’ve never been able to understand the pair.. They’re not even foils for one another like Rarity is with AJ, and the Old!RD doesn’t count. It makes about as much sense to me as shipping Pinkie with Shining Armour.
It’s growing in the ranks :)
