“That thar bat be tryin’ to over-apple mah apples! S’far as Ah see thin’s, war were declared!”
@bchandler2
“Varmints Uh Mighty Peculiar Bigness? Ah reckon they be nuthin’ but moonwash, sugarcu…” WHOMP!
Edited because: Not country enough
I can’t believe I live in a world where we try to “out apple” one another xD . I love it.
“As y’all wish”, Sugarcube;)
Granny Smith: “As you wish.”
There are many types of Sues. Both Buttercup and Westley are Parody Sues (Buttercup of the Purity Sue and Westley of the Marty Tzu with a dash of God-Mode Sue seeing as he was able to out fence Ignio and out wrestle Fezzik). See the respective articles on tv tropes.org for more.
Eh? Mary Sues are usually characters who are universally loved and who solve all the issues with their extreme skills. Buttercup was loved by Wesley, yes, and thought of as pretty by others. But the Prince didn’t love her and wasn’t swayed by her beauty. And she wasn’t skilled - the one time she tried to get away she failed and she didn’t do much else in the movie.
I mean, if you were saying she was loved in the movie for no good reason I’d nod along. But she wasn’t much of a Sue.
Just to clarify, we are talking about the same 80s film, right?
Well we’re just going to have to agree to disagree on that one.
Besides Frank Langella is good in it. He even said that Skeletor was his favorite role.
Comparing nearly anything to the live action Masters of the Universe film is incredibly mean lol. I’ve seen it once and I was really, really young at the time, yet I still remember it being one of the worst things I’d ever seen.
Who thought that would be a good idea?
Granted but Legend, Willow, and the live action Masters Of The Universe were still better. Because they had the one thing Princess Bride lacked….Billy Barty.
Joseph, as much as I enjoy watching you work, I have my country’s five-hundredth anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to kill, and Guilder to frame for it. I’m swamped.
He’s not a moron, he said so himself!
He put it in neither drink; Vezinni was going to die from the moment he inhaled it like a moron. :V
Shall we engage in a battle of wits? I promise I haven’t been slowly gaining an immunity to any deadly poisons… lately.
Buttercup was kind of bland, but the appeal of the movie does not lie with her. It lies with the more colorful characters such as Fezzik.
FUND IT.
Prince Blueblood as Prince Humperdink
Discord and Twilight as Miracle Max and his wife
Now Legend…THAT is a great 80’s fantasy film.
On another note, I like the design you gave to the handle of Wesleyjack’s sword. It actually looks like how swords would look and be held in their world.
Good luck. My brain rejects the concept entirely, it seems.
Its fine.
Though now I’m trying to imagine Andre the Giant singing “Got the Music In You”.
A fair point. Wasn’t thinking clearly last night.
Probably because Mac’s (rarely used) voice and laid back attitude fits him much more.
