I love the play of light in this picture. You don’t see that sort of thing very often; it really emphasizes the ‘physicality’ of the picture…
 
And I love Sunset-Applejack interactions in general. There’s not enough of these pictures, but it seems they always get along well.

I agree; it might be the tree that’s doing it. It has a very Watterson vibe about it – watercolor style, multiple flat layers, almost Japanese-feeling…

Applejack’s too compassionate and unselfish to be Calvin, and Sunset’s too ambitious and restless to be Hobbes… but neither of them is quite as different as I would have expected. That could be really interesting…
