That’s not part of the original downloads or is it? Are these barbie doll models still around somewhere?

Seeing as both versions of Canterlot are set in Nowhere, Kansas… Superman’s ship landed in Kansas, right? I’d imagine if the cosmic founders of Canterlot had the same mindset as a Kryptonian super-computer… :j

I always imagined that the whole rest of the world was more like our own, and everybody was always weirded out by that one town where the movies take place :P

Of course, there’s also the issue that there’s good solid evidence in Cutie Mark Chronicles that RD is the youngest of the six and since Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie…

Unless several of the others got held back a year, they really shouldn’t all be seniors. I’d tend to lean towards the “pony age does not correspond to human age” explanation.
Sploich

  1. There’s nothing to say that each season represents a full year in Ponyville. We haven’t seen any(?) birthdays or holidays repeat. It could easily be only a year or two that we’ve been following these characters.

  2. It is completely possible that ponies have a different social outlook on maturity than we do. Without getting into the reasoning and politics, I’d argue the ponies are a lot smarter about it than we are.

  3. It’s been stated by show staff that Rainbow Rocks takes place only a few months after the first film. It can also be assumed without too much of a stretch that time in pony-world is different than time in human-world. It seems like a lot longer time passes for ponies than people, which would explain things like the CMC going to the same school as the Mane 6. Incidentally, we also don’t know what, if any, the grade system is like at Canterlot High. Is it a standard four-year high school like a lot of US schools do, or is the age scale much broader? We don’t really know.

You would think that they would make these 3d models atomically correct on the accurate assumption that people will want to undress them

Thaaank you!

…wait, hold on. So this implies that the mane6 are freshmen at the beginning of the show? So why do they live on their own and have jobs? Why aren’t they going to school?

Actually, now that I think about it, if the girls in EQG were seniors in the first movie, wouldn’t they have graduated by the time the second movie came out?

@Molly the Moopy
It wouldn’t be pedo, she’s an adult in the show and it’s implied that she’s a senior in EQG, making her around 18.

Wait… when is it implied that she’s a senior? Not calling you a liar, I just honestly don’t remember any allusions to their grades at all in those movies.
