As I understand it, this strip series is written in Russian and then translated (somewhat haphazardly) into English.

Still waiting for this artist to know the meaning of Life and find Cure for Cancer.

I think the artist needs to work on that syntax.

There’s a difference between teaching trivial stuff and teaching stuff students can grasp. That’s why we list prerequisites for courses. You’re expected to know X, Y and Z, and I’m expected to be able to explain the course content to someone who knows that, not someone who has taken the next four semesters of XYZ Theory.
 
Another way to put this comic is that sometimes people explaining things forget that their audience may not have spent the time they have with the topic, or might not be familiar with jargon a small community has developed, that’s all.
 
Also, the formula on the blackboard has to do with conditional probability, although I can’t say what exactly since I don’t know what o is. Upvote for math!

Well, yeah! Keep treating the kids like they’re in Remedial Courses and they’ll NEVER learn these terms! Education is for expansion of knowledge, not catering to the backwards baseball cap douchebags who whine about everything.
