Description

I realize I messed up the cutie mark. That little triangular thing in the bottom right corner is supposed to be a topiary; There’s more to the page that I didn’t scan and upload.

This is one that I didn’t make with much reference (for Derpy) outside of memory. I did need reference for the tail, house and cutie mark that I didn’t end up drawing properly.

Another thing; I did blend some of the colors in by rubbing fingers across the paper. So there’s that.

I’ve been drawing more from my arm than my wrist lately, particularly when it comes to straight(ish) lines.

As for the joints, you mean like this image below?

I was going for something straighter than the above image, but yeah it does look as though the raised leg in this Derpy drawing is a bit off. Maybe the right (left to the viewer) eyelid is a bit funky too.

Thanks.

Some advice that helped me:

  • Draw lots of circles. Be sure to draw from your shoulder, not your wrist.

  • Study how the joints in the legs would bend. There are many tutorials showing simplified versions of leg anatomy. You’re getting close.

Keep trying, you’ll only get better.
