I never noticed that

Twilight: I love seeing the back of Pinkie Pie’s boots while holding this cup.

I was going to guess that Twilight holds her “forehooves” like this for fear of injuring her fingers… but then I looked more closely at the picture, and saw that she’s genuinely confused. So much for that theory.

This! And once again a moment like this apparently happened and I didn’t even notice, even when I’ve seen the movie about three times. Some people are saying that this is an overused joke, but how exactly. First of all I find it very believable that Twilight still has problems of getting used to being human. However second and most importantly, how is this overused while they don’t even rub it in our faces. Her horsie-behavior mostly happens in the background.

It’s really a joke.

The same joke exists in the pony movie - they’re often seen as incapable of wielding objects in hooves.

This was also happening completely in the background with no attention paid to it from the camera. It was cute and funny!

Why wouldn’t they? Twilight was only in the human world a couple days before, and she’s been gone for a while. She’s not a pro at being human like Sunset is.
