Really though, you’re complaint seems so whiny and superficial.
So? The more, the merrier. Maybe they’ll have her return down the line should Gallifrey truly return.
Plus, it’s the fact that a long-time male character switches genders. Pretty big deal if you ask me, especially when they’ve said this sort of regeneration is possible but never really shown it until now.
Because there was already a female antagonistic time lord in doctor who cannon called “the Rani” that they yet to bring back from the classic run. If they wanted an evil female time lord they just could of brought back her instead of “lets randomly switch the master’s gender”.
Was that “The Doctor’s wife?”
I guess I should say “re-enforces the concept” by actually showing a once male character now female.
Neil Gaiman did it first with The Corsair.
Why? Michelle Gomez nails the role and it canonizes male-to-female regenerations.

The end of the Time War basically put almost all of Time Lord history in a box, taped it up and put it way at the back of the attic where nobody will find it unless they put in a lot of time and effort. In-universe, it’s not a question of whether the Doctor CAN bring it back. Of course he can. In-universe, it’s a matter of whether he SHOULD.
Russell T. Davies has stated that ‘nobody cares about the Rani’. The only way she can come back is if you KILL RUSSELL T. DAVIES! (OBEY MY DOG)
Nothing was ever stated that the Rani, Susan, Romana, The Monk, Rassilon, Omega, The other and the Master were dead. Rassilon was shot during End of Time, he can still regenerate. Omega is being brought back in the Audio stories, so he aint dead, and The Other.. well he cant die.. or the show would end.
It’s canon that Time Lords can shift genders when they regenerate and the Rani is DEAD. Either in the Time War or by the House.
