To be…well I was gunna say fair but this is really just pedantic, momma here isn’t assuming RD wears a tutu. She’s looking at the RD costume, seeing the very real tutu that it includes, and is saying “lol nope!”

You’re actually assuming child neglect from this little piece. I watched all kinds of shows but I wouldn’t expect my parents to name several pokemon or whatever, if were to make assumptions I would say she doesn’t want her son to dress up in something seen as a little girls show.

Learning to analyze a situation is something people working in childcare do.

A child never shuts up about their favorite TV shows / characters. A parent not knowing the basics about it (Assuming RD wears a tutu because she is female) means that they don’t make it a point to be interested in what their child is interested in, which is an important part of child raising.

Both of my parents knew the names of every Ninja Turtle when I was growing up in the 80’s. Not because they liked the show, but because I did and they showed interest for things I was interested in.

Worst thing about this story? Another TV Babysitter. The parent doesn’t know anything about a character the child is clearly very interested in. That doesn’t happen quietly.

That means she sets her kid down in front of the TV to keep them quiet, instead of using small amounts of TV to spend time with her child.
