It was never shipped in the show. The basis is them both working on rock farms.

I kinda liked this ship in the beginning of Foudub’s comics when Trixie was a lot more tsundere-ish and angrier, because their personalities played off better that way

I’d definitely like to see something happen with the Alicorn amulet at this point. I mean… it’s nice to see these two all cute and cuddly together, but a little strife would go a long way to make things a tad more interesting.

Though honestly, it feels like Foundu is making it far too mushy and forgetting to actually have something HAPPEN in these comics. Each of his recent strips could have been reduced to a single panel. Makes me think he’s running out of ideas and is stretching them to keep this going at a decent rate.

Well said, Lady_Daine. Your statement is also the reason why I love the ship, even though I’m not a big fan of shipping myself. Who knew this shipping would be full of witty storyline and humor? I’m loving every moment of it.

The quality of a ship is not always dependent upon how realistically they can work out. It often is dependent upon how well a writer or artist sells their vision and makes it work in their own interpretation. And in this case, foudubulbe does a spectacular job of selling me Mauxie even though I’m not a fan of any romantic shipping with Trixie.

Trixie could never hurt a rock.

It is canon fact that Trixie worked at “the rock farm” after being chased off in season 1.  
It is canon fact that “the rock farm” is run by Pinkie’s family (which includes Maud)
 
That these two characters met isn’t that big of a stretch.

The ship is about two characters that we don’t know much about, hence the artist has more freedom to make them act as he wishes?  
And the fact that Trixie and Maud probably met in canon but we don’t know how that went?  
They are both weird characters with their quirks that play off each other for comedic effect?

but fact. Maud shows no emotion. Fact. this ship makes less sense then ponies sitting next to each other. Fact. if this artist ruins Maud in the show… Like the Fandom has influenced the show many times before. IT WILL SUCK.
