I’ve just always loved this, though - I can actually see where Pinkie gets a lot of randomness in season 1. She’s not completely random, it’s just the things she thinks of/does are often only tangentially related to what’s going on at hoof. Her thought train moves incredibly fast so it can cover a lot of distance in little time.
 
How she acts in “Swarm of the Century” is a perfect example. She doesn’t do a good job of explaining the context of her actions, but if you could see the context in her mind then it’d make perfect sense.

Thanks for pointing that out. I admit there are times Pinkie is too childish, but people who started to hate her seemed to take her character too seriously to begin with.

Pinkie is the most screwed over character in the show.  
Spike drama: The writers screw him over, the fans see him as a victim and hate the writers.  
Pinkie drama: The writers screw her over, the fans hate HER.

Well, I’d like to point out that the “lolrandom” has always been there, it’s just that they started exaggerating it a little more as early as season 2. Sometimes it’s fine, but other times I will admit that I think they go a little too far with it.

As a strong Dashie-lover, that first panel just kills me. I want to hug her soooo bad :(

She can be insensitive at times, but this was very deliberate on the writers’ part and clearly OOC.  
Well, maybe not if you already adapted to the “new” lolrandom retard Pinkie who is intense - painfully so - but nothing else whatsoever.

I personally look at it this way: it wasn’t necessarily OOC for her, but it DID make her a little unlikable since she was the cause of 90% of the conflict of that episode.

Ah, yes. Maybe Pinkie watches too much Doctor Who or plays too much Kingdom Hearts or both. X3

I think the issue here isn’t so much that Pinkie is suggesting “Let’s have a big, happy corpse party for Tank!” It’s she’s suggesting “Let’s have a big ol’ welcoming party for Rainbow’s new pet!” (The falcon from ‘May the Best Pet Win’)
 
Meanwhile, Tank’s body isn’t even cold… figuratively speaking that is.

I’m from central/eastern Europe. And while celebration is certainly a part of the funeral (after the ceremony, people gather to get smashed, reminisce and generally be lot happier, at least until the morning), there’s a whole lot of mourning before and after that.

I seemed to have thought you were speaking from a lack of experience. I apologize for the misinterpretation. I do know that some countries view death differently than Western Europe and America. The crack about God was simply irritation towards His followers. I do not hate Him entirely because His Words seem cool, He simply has weirdos for followers, especially in the early second millennium. lol
