Phantom Rider
Solar Supporter - Fought against the New Lunar Republic rebellion on the side of the Solar Deity (April Fools 2023).

You are already booped.
The loss of G3 Dash’s darling way of speaking and the lack of Minty are crimes indeed, but as a story, Twinkle Wish Adventure wasn’t bad.

It is G3, so it is more sugary than what you expect if you grew up with G1 or were brought in by FIM, but other than that… I think most people’s problem with 3.5 is the new visual style.

However, if you ask me (what, nobody did? Eh, too bad.) there were some gains with the new style as well: in G3 proper, everyone was a straight repaint of everyone else. And actually, outside Rescue at Midnight Castle, the same was true of G1. Individualized looks were brought to the franchise by 3.5.

(Well, Tales had them too, but that was so shortlived and so overlooked. Most of us saw an MLP character that differed from the one next to her in more than the color for the first time in this story riiiiiight here.)

My only problem with G3.5’s storytelling is the presence of the narrator.
Other than that, I think there’s nothing wrong. Twinkle Wish Adventure comes dangerously close to being the best post-2000 MLP thing there is.

Ironically this show G3.5 COULD have had good story telling, but by then, Hasbro I think decided to just go for G4.

Listen to ‘Dreams Do Come True’ it almost comes across as a final fairwell to the audience! As close to an epitaph as you can get in a little girls’ cartoon made to sell toys.
