I think of all of the roles I had picked for the ponies in my own TF2 lineup, these two are actually my favorite, because of all of the ponies, these are the two I felt were grossly out-of-place (given I could understand the desire to put Fluttershy in a healer role, I think it unimportant when said healer is capable of destruction and is one of the more dangerous members of the team thanks to ubercharging).Plus, Medic reminds me of Egon from Ghostbusters and Sniper reminds me of Crocodile Dundee. I think I heard that was intentional but I can’t be sure so don’t quote me on that.I gave Twilight the Fancy Spellbook and Skull Island Topper, just because. Gave Fluttershy the Croc-hat and the backpack for the same reasons.
Neither I did.
Because of their ditziness, Derpy seems like a better choice.
Engineer is a weird case for me since Equestria doesn’t have a dedicate gadgeteer genius, so Twilight or Pinkie are the closest to engineer.
Sniper and Twi never caught with me because honestly, I can’t really see actual matches at all. Twilight is an scholar unlike sniper, she is more of a leader than a mere support and sniper’s bushman tendencies simply doesn’t fit.
Plus, Twilight has shown so far that she has an atrocious aim.
(In friendship games, sci-twi couldn’t shot at the target until Applejack helps her; and in The cutie remark, Twilight shoots a crystal-shot, but fails and instead of shooting starlight, she shoots RD instead.)
Medic and Flutters. Oh boy, I’m scared because Idon’t want to hurt other people’s feelings. Long story short, while some healers fall into the timid, violence-hating, hyppocrates follower, affable, sensitive and polite which can maybe work with Flutters, TF2 Medic is anything but that. To quote the original lore for TF2 MEdic, cropped from the TF2 wiki:
“What he lacks in compassion for the sick, respect for human dignity, and any sort of verifiable formal training in medicine, the Medic more than makes up for with a bottomless supply of giant needles and a trembling enthusiasm for plunging them into exposed flesh. Raised in Stuttgart, Germany during an era when the Hippocratic oath had been downgraded to an optional Hippocratic suggestion, the Medic considers healing a generally unintended side effect of satisfying his own morbid curiosity”
In short, kindness and shyness are not the words you would use to describe Medic (honestly Flutters has a lot of problem fitting with any member of TF2 cast at all, even if you take aside the murderous mercenary thing).
