All they showed is that she has a room. We don’t know anything about that place or what kind of adult supervision she receives. If she has parents, a parent, an adopted family, or if she is awaiting adoption.

To be fair, it wasn’t just Fox News, they just reported on people being offended by that “Portal 2” gag for the most part. SO they weren’t exactly supporting it…
 
(Seriously, can we not bring the “Fox Newz iz the devil!” drama to this pic? I’m soooo sick of hearing about how “evil” Fox News is, when other News stations can be just as biased, and such to, and sometimes Fox can be “fair” with some reports.)

Yeah, one thing people forget about right-wingers is they aren’t fans of political-correctness like the left. One of the few things some middle-grounded people prefer about the Right. (Both sides have issues, and neither is correct on everything.)  
Even liberal comedian George Carlin called out liberals on hiding behind political-correctness, the way conservatives do “family-values,” and such.

I thought that was the. Point of the report, that although they were careful not to look like they were picking on the adopted girl it was the whole “this is how bad political correctness is getting” sort of deal.
 
That even the bad guys were having to be made as to not offend anyone even though that is the very point of an antagonist, that is to say to antagonize players.

I thought it was pretty much established in “Flight to the Finish” that she at least lives in a house, so she probably has a family. She had her own room, and the house didn’t look anywhere near big enough to be a whole orphanage, but people still want to hang on to that headcanon.

I remember when someone tried to make a fuzz about it on Fox News. They even edited out the part where GLaDOS defends Chell to make it more “shocking”.
