1997 was the first year Skittles was involved with NASCAR. Cope’s new ride in the #36 Grand Prix was hyped up but didn’t lead to success as he picked up only one top-5 (in the season finale) and two top-10s leading to his replacement with Irvan.
I know I’m late to the party as all hell, but it’s Derrike Cope’s 1997 Pontiac because of the Busch Pole Award decal, Nascar started using the Bud Pole Award in 1998.
