My HS had a ton of bassoonists end up in percussion for the marching band. We also had refugees from other instruments who hated the rest of their section and liked to be part of the hit shit gang.

Hm, maybe. I was sure Wrex was only about 1,000. Guess they’re like lobsters.
Not true, actually. Krogan can live well past then. Wrex was born near the end of the Krogan rebellions, making him at least ~1300 and none the worse for wear, and Okeer was an adult even when they started, making him over 1700 years and still going strong. Their ridiculously tough biology makes them last for a long time, and that’s what I meant. Simply not dying of old age.
Krogan don’t live indefinatly either, they’re about similar to the asari in that they live for about a thousand years. It’s just most would rather not wait so long.
I figured Luna and Celestia had biological immorality, like the Krogan. They’ll live on forever until slain, and they’ve just gotten good at not dying.
Well, not exactly immortal just more long lived.
But me, I don’t play favorites with ponies, so I’m being greedy and wanting to hug them all while everyone else picks favorites.

One of the two friends gets a boy/girl/filly/colt-friend, and suddenly it’s like there’s no more time to be spent with the other friend.
They usually switch, as in real life. Octavia here is playing a Sousaphone. I’d guess Fred might be a drummer.
Cadance is indeed awesome. (I’m also a fan of Celestia…but yeah, Candy is best.)
And a Republic did strike me odd, since Luna’s an immortal monarch.
Yeah, it was an interesting time. Back then, you could say you were a member of the NLR and get applauded instead of snarked at. That’s a good thing, Celestia was always my favorite princess (at least till Cady came around (her wings are so pretty)), and definitely best princess.
Ah, 2011…Back then, the fandom followed fics, like Fallout: Equestria and Past Sins…A part of me misses those days, but then again.
We had Tyrant Celestia up the wazzoo, and I don’t miss that.
Very rarely do you get to point at something and say “this started it all.” So, I cherish my experience in brony trivia by being able to point at Allegrezza and say that this legitimately good story came in at a moment where bronies were starved for novelty and reshaped headcanons everywhere.
It just stuck around, I guess. Everyone paid homage to this with their own cameos with Vinyl and Octavia when they showed up, and new bronies came in and assumed it had always been this way.
They’d make for a wacky pair of friends, not lovers.
Why they got shipped and became so common?…I don’t know. Vinyl only had a few seconds of screen time in mid-season one and didn’t appear again till the season 2 finale.
Octavia had a rather extended stay in her appearance during the season 1 finale and a few scenes in season 2.
This! (Come on, they’re in the same band. Octavia and Vinyl don’t even live in the same place.)
