I like everything in this picture. It’s like a scene from an action movie. Twilight’s face shows intensity and a concentrated effort with a mix of worry from her gritted teeth. She is flying through a wonderbolt training course through rain and thunder inside a cloud. The perspective shows she’s only near the beginning of the course, the rest could be harder! The lightning reflecting off the goggles makes it feel even more intense knowing she could be hit randomly. This was probably rainbow’s idea of the best place to teach twilight how to fly.
 
Twilight may be a book horse but she isn’t afraid to learn new things!

Okay, now I see Fluttershy. And Derpy too, man that has to be some painstaking details to work on.

This is how Twilight was expecting her Wonderbolt application to go. It actually went something more like this:
 

 
The yellow mare in front of her sighed. “I’m sorry, Twilight, but you can’t join us.”
 
Twilight gaped. “What? Why? I-I’m excellent with teamwork and coordination, and I can do every stunt that any Wonderbolt could ever do! Even the Buccaneer Blaze!”
 
Spitfire blinked, unamused. “You misunderstand the point of the Wonderbolts.” She swept her hoof over the room, over all the paintings of past and present Wonderbolts adorning the walls. “The Wonderbolts are a collection of the elite. Those who worked their hardest and strived to be the best. Those who started with very little and worked their way up to the top.”
 
Spitfire locked eyes with the alicorn again. “We are a collection of elite pegasi. We are a model for what pegasi can be if they truly set their minds to it. We are proof that anypony can achieve anything.” Her eyes narrowed. “We are NOT a reward for being born into the right circumstances. Having you on the team would send the wrong message to our audience. It wouldn’t be “You too can be this awesome if you work hard enough,” it would be ‘You peasants have to work hard to be this great, but alicorn princesses can have everything you ever broke your ass for without even lifting a hoof.’”
 
“But… But I WORKED to be a Princess! I EARNED my crown and my wings!” Twilight was indignant.
 
Spitfire cocked an eyebrow. “That may be true, but you only had to practice for about a month to reach the level of skill that normal pegasi must spend years carving out.” Her eyes narrowed again. “You didn’t have to work to get to the top. You were just born with so much magical power that Princess Celestia took you under her wing. Remember what I said about being born into the right circumstances? You are a misguidance. You can never become a Wonderbolt, because you did not truly work for it. You may be allowed to ride the escalator to the top because of your ‘superior species,’ but you lack the spirit of a pegasus who worked to get where she is. Now get out of my office.”
