Nope, Sir Discord was a hero. Unless you meant that Sir Discord didn’t do a face-heel turn when Discord was reformed, in which case nobody really knows his current status.

If Derpy really supposed to be Ditzy, it could represent breath control. It would give her the endurance to fly long distances, which may explain why they kept sending her despite her crummy sense of direction.
