(Clarification: I wouldn’t want to see it because lesbian ponies are hot, I’d want to see it because they’re cute together and work well together imo.)
Ehh I don’t necessarily want hot mare on mare action (or I mean, it’s nice and all but that’s what fanworks are for, that doesn’t belong in the cartoon). In the show I’d be perfectly content with cuddly nuzzly displays of affection if these two ever hooked up, and I’m sure that’s all Hasbro would ever allow. If the gay thing ceased to be an issue or they somehow decided to be progressive about it that is, though that’s unlikely.
What the bronies want, cute colorful ponies, entertaining cartoon show, and hot mare on mare action.
What Hasbro wants, to sell colorful pony toys, and to not piss off angry moms and Lawyers.
What DHX wants, to keep everyone happy and to make fun cartoons.

They do; How else could they tell apart some harmless friendshipping (like between Twilight and Pinkie in this episode) and the lesbianic sexual tension between Rarity and Applejack.
They were fighting throughout the episode.

OK, I don’t like FlutterMac, but it’s not ‘awful’. Ping has a point in that most are decent if they’re not grimdark/rape. I may not like FlutterMac, but it’s better to me than a few Chrysalis ships because it’s typically not a grimdark slant. Unless, that is, the artist likes portraying Fluttershy as a yandere.
It’s unfortunate that all three of those ships are awful.
