Maybe if they had shipping goggles glued to their face like half of the fandom does. I swear, sometimes I don’t think some people in the fandom really know the difference between how friends interact and how lovers interact.

Really, you could tell someone (who’d never seen the show before) that Rarity and Applejack were dating and show them this episode, and they’d have no reason to doubt you. Kinda RD/FS too although the slavery thing gets in the way a bit there.

I’m pretty sure AJ & Rarity initially not liking each other is canon. I mean, wasn’t that the conflict to Look Before You Sleep?

I am always ok with Rarijack.  
But I also accept that other people will have shipping preferences, and acknowledge that if the show threw any of the main six into an official relationship that could involve sex and/or marriage… That could cause some issues for the fandom.  
But then again those with flexible tastes, like when everyone got emotionally involved with FlutterMac, and suddenly the show (temporarily, maybe) threw the CheriMac at us, suddenly some very creative and flexible shipping artists created the three way ship CheeriFlutterMac.  
So really, I’m OK with just about any normal healthy ship. Just as long it doesn’t involve anything grimdark like rape or anything…

Rarity and Applejack do have the most clashing personalities. Heck, I don’t think they even liked each other initially as part of the mane six.
