Arthas was a fallen hero. He watched at a young age much of his kingdom burning under the Orcish invasion. He trained hard and was dedicated. Then he watched as an enemy he couldn’t understand or stop burned his kingdom again. He took up Frostmourn out of an honest hope to save his people.

Incidentally, since I absolutely love Arthas as a character (well, his pre-WoW version)…this idea disturbs me greatly. There are usurpers that fit Blueblood better. He’s not a fallen hero, he’s a whiny royal brat.
