@Background Pony #289F I couldn’t find a GIF of that blink, but I know what you’re talking about…

Don’t forget when they were dumping the bodies to escape pursuing Titans…
full
And let’s not forget that moment where Petra’s dad starts talking to him about how devoted his daughter is to him, while being blissfully unaware of her death…
full
Hell, that last one, he’s actually struggling to keep up his poker face!

I meant to post this earlier, but Derpibooru was acting up. My original post was swallowed up by the digital abyss. Anyway, my point is that Levi is far from emotionless, he’s just experienced so much tragedy that he learned how to contain himself in most situations.

Also, he has other character traits, besides being badass…

-He’s an obsessive clean freak
full

-He has a strong devotion to his fellow man…
full

-He also seems to be fond of toilet humor…
full
actual manga dialogue

Bottom line: There’s way more to Levi than what we have seen.

Well you never seem to pay attention to Levi in details except to just seeing him as typical badass guy, but I think he’s more than that. Spoilers Levi does show his feels as he blinks when he look at the dead corpse of Petra, and seems more concerned about other people than himself. He gave Petra’s patch to a man who lost his friend even if Petra was meant something to him after losing her and his troops. We’ll be all day for me to explain Levi, but for now I have proof of what Levi is. Even if he’s flawless or not.

@SquiggyBomb
Yeah, once they’re out of the combat environment. Levi is, and has pretty much always has been while we’ve seen him, been in the combat environment, even if only within his scope of things.

I have taken a couple of courses in psych and know that the type of scarring you’re describing would show itself in uncontrollable emotional outbursts.

@SquiggyBomb
So being an emotionally scarred warrior who’s seen more death than most people have living relatives isn’t a personality? That’s like telling someone with PTSD (which Levi probably has BTW) that they should just “get over it” because they’re not in the war anymore.

Levi’s only show of emotion was him being pissed off while wrecked the Female Titan…

Although, that was after he discovered the lifeless bodies of his elite, hand-picked squad.

@sigh
Exactly! I’d like to see what his life was like, for him to be so stone-faced.
