But the opposites attract thing isn’t entirely true. In most cases, even those who might seem ‘opposite’ have some sort of common ground to work on. I’m not saying I couldn’t see Twilight being friends with the Sniper, she is the Princess of Friendship after all, but I could never figure out the real thing between these two characters.

Well, it’s simple. Two friends are fighting. One contacts a professional to settle things. Professional splatters other friend’s brain against the wall. Friends are no longer fighting.
