Guess she’s slowly forgetting the old way of speaking. :P
Also, a pink(ish) “Celestia” with blue eyes, a piece of paper on her “hindquarters” (quoth Luna), and a nervous grin on her face? Seems legit. </sarcasm> Seriously, how did no pony see through Luna’s little game straight away? -_-
Edited
Luna, do you even grammar
They pulled off the Elements without ceremony, and used them in the same state. No reason to think that they did anything in between then, and given their statements about the Elements, reason to think that they would actually try to avoid tampering with the Elements.
@Darth Sonic
Bonding with the Elements, like the Mane Six did. The Elements reshaped themselves to fit the Manes and actually appeared upon them, whereas the Royal Sisters just grabbed them and walked off.
@PonyPon
I think that the Elements were just blanks when the Royal Sisters used them, and only bonded to the Manes later. Unbonded, they would work for anyone.
@PonyPon
Why not? They’d seemingly never been removed from the Tree of Harmony before then, so we don’t have any reason to think that they’d been seriously studied or categorized before then.
And in the only bit of research that we’ve seen on them, the sixth Element was said to still be unknown. So, y’know, it’s very possible that not only were they only studied after being removed, but Celestia might not have finished until Twilight told her what the last Element was.
@CronoM
The better question is whether or not there actually is a one Element-per-person limit. We’ve never actually seen the Manes try to use more than one Element at a time, and we’ve only seen the Royal Sisters use them in their blank state, so we can’t even compare how the two teams used them.
She’s incredibally blunt in straightforward, as well as very competitive. Again, just watch Luna Eclipse.
That said, you’re right that the comics only seem to focus on her Laughter Aspect, much to their detriment. The Big Mac arc does show that they are capable of writing a more balanced Luna.
Then again, Celestia has a similar “Focus on one aspect at the expense of the other two” problem. If Luna is a more down to earth, Shakespearian Ham Pinkie, than Celly is a Wise Time Lord Twilight. I want to see Tia tend to her animals (Philomena and the garden critters from Best Night Ever) and go all Drama Queen on us.
In short, I was being sarcastic.
I agree with you. I don’t think they’re linked to the elements the same way the Mane 6 are. But the fact that they CAN use them, 3 at minimum, all 6 at most is odd…unless it has to do with WHY they are immortal-princesses of celestial power in the first place.
I mean, since when did the elements of harmony link to real immortal godlyhood? (a spell Starswirled never finished doesn’t count). Is there a link?
This is almost complete speculation but there might be a solid clue…but its based on the only interesting line I found in EQ movie and really suspicious stuff added in the IDW EQ#1 that follows up with that. :/ Should I continue, even if the source material is laughable and mostly non-canon?(mostly, since they added flash sentry and a sequal)
The one line that was bugging me was…
Movie:“Pop Quiz. What happens when you bring an element of harmony into a alternate world? You don’t know? Seriously?”
And then the IDW comic elaborated on what she meant and gave a clue I did NOT expect. Something about Sunset possibly figuring out how Celestia and Luna became how they are.
I have no idea what point your trying to make. Its not as if one reasonable response makes his nonsensical argument suddenly make sense.
My point is that if celestia can use all of them, maybe they are not linked to the elements in the same way that the mane 6. And even if we use that screen cap that doesnt mean that Luna has to act like some clon of Pinkie Pie just because she is the element of laughter, she doesnt act like Rainbow or Applejack
We Just Don’t Know!
It is strange how Celestia is able to use all of them, but all the members of the mane six need to be there to activate theirs. I mean, they couldn’t defeat Discord at first because Dash wasn’t there, and they wouldn’t have been able to defeat Discord when Fluttershy gave her element up. So how do they work?
So then how were their names and their required virtues written in a book after the fact?
Did she find out somehow after that final use?
As that image stats… that doesnt make much sence. I dont even think that the elements work in the same way with the princesses than with the mane 6, I mean, Celestia used all of them againts Nightmare Moon
Only screen shot here: >>483953
We went by color code.
Can you please tell me exactly where in “Princess Twilight Sparkle” is stated wich elements use each sister?
I don’t know, something that might’ve helped them avoid the whole NMM thing?
You know, them not bonding could be an interesting part of the tale.
… They’re sisters. What bonding period could they possibly require?
There is a period of time between where they took them off the tree, and where they used them against Discord. Probably not a long period (since Discord’s troublemaking was the key) but long enough to know how they worked.
What way? We saw Luna and Celestia grab them off of the tree and just use them, without going through the bonding process of the Manes.
Well, he proved himself reasonable in the very comment you quoted.
Does that mean I’m a superior debater than RIG? :D
I… Don’t think the elements work that way.
Like, at all.
Save for a one time trip to the Moon.
They plucked the Elements off of the tree, with no sign that they bothered to assign them the way the Manes did. I wouldn’t put any weight behind their possession of any given Element.
Heck, we don’t even know if they knew which Element was which at that point, or even that the Elements were related to friendship.
I don’t buy that for a minute. If anything, RIG’s warning was 100% justified.
Based on your earlier arguments, I’m more inclined to believe RIG then you. I know RIG, he’s pretty smart. And as SEVERAL people besides RIG pointed out, your arguments were outright nonsensical. See ya.
Now THAT’S an actual valid point to jusify Luna acting this crazy. Infact, I think I have no problems with her having a little “fun” once in a while (of course by little I mean all she did in the Big Mac arc), but… I still don’t get why bring the “Banished to the Moon” out of thin air save for fandom references.
And @CronoM ,Don’t listen to RIG, he’s kind of easy to offend when you don’t like something from the comics and try to defend what the show has done even if it appears to be a “flat” and “generic” characterization.
