People come off as pretentious to me when they pronounce something as if they were an expert, and it turns out they were completely wrong.

Also, I couldn’t seem to find any information regarding the point you made. Normally, being named after your grandfather wouldn’t confer any suffix. However, if you choose to use a suffix, since he is the first to have that name he should be a junior while the grandfather could take ‘senior’ if he felt so inclined.
 
If you disagree with me, fine, but try to be polite. Resorting to insults just means that you’ve run out of arguments that can stand on their own.

I just looked it up. You’re actually mistaken. When a child is named for his grandfather, Roman numerals are used, NOT Sr. and Jr….

Nope! Junior is applied when it is a direct line relationship. It’s explained like this:
 
If there are two brothers, Jack and Nick and NICK has a son named Jack, he is Jack the Second. If, after this fact, Jack has his own child with the name Jack, that child is Jack Jr. It then continues sequentially in order of birth.
 
Since Nighty is a direct lineage line from the last one with the name, he’s a Junior.
