So yeah, you’ll never guess what show I’ve gotten hooked on recently.
So far, for me, it’s a hard tie between Garnet and Amethyst for best char.
Dedicating this one to my friend and roomie, Zack. Things’ve been pretty shitty for him recently, and he’s dropping out of college after this week. Gonna miss ya, dude. Here’s to the two shows we love to watch together so much.

I never heard about a full-season Pony arc, may I ask for more information?
And as much as I like character development, what I’m hooked by is the worldbuilding. Discovering the truth about the Gems was utterly captivating to me, and I get the feeling there’s still more to learn.
I’m also surprised the Uncle Grandpa crossover didn’t turn out to be a train wreck, considering that, well, it was a crossover with Uncle Grandpa.
That’s what I’d say is such a huge appeal. We get to see every moment of Steven growing into a more powerful and mature Gem. If FIM didn’t care so little for continuity, I’m sure the two shows would be very similar. Steven Universe is a brilliant example that story is vital! And we’re still waiting for that full season length pony arc to happen, like we were told it would. Hope they can’t find an ecxuse this time not to do it.
I wasn’t too fond of Steven in the beginning either, but I think part of it was that I wasn’t expecting him to change. he’s grown up a bit over the course of the series, and in retrospect I think that starting out the way he did was so he’d have room for that growth.

Be relieved that ‘gemtlemen’ was just a joke that was never meant to be taken seriously.
I’m just hung up on him breaking pony tradition and wearing pants.

I was watching from the beginning, but it wasn’t until “Mirror Gem”/“Ocean Gem” that I feel like the show began to live up to its full potential.
And I will maintain to my dying day that “gemtleman” sounds stupid as hell.

Gonna have to agree with this.
He definitely does, haha. I kept thinking thinking that as I was working on it, but ultimately, I wanted to try and make it look closer to his nose in-show. Ah well :3.

If I could elaborate:
Gravity Falls because of its subject matter and storytelling.
FiM for its legitimization of Flash animations in professional work.
Steven Universe for having an interesting and personal concept, as well as being the first cartoon on CN ever to be made by a woman.
Possibly is Adventure Time for bringing American TV animation back to relevance after five plus years of mediocrity/niche appeal.
